NSC INSPIRE YOUTH GROUP
ABOUT YOUTH GROUP
Since the fall of 2018, NSC has provided services to youth aged 15-21 through 8-12 week Youth Group sessions. Co-led by Occupational Therapy students from Thomas Jefferson University, session topics have included college prep, family communication, consent, time management, and financial management and literacy. The goal of Youth Group is for immigrant and refugee youth to gain increased skills to assist them in navigating life and processes in the US, as well as to gain abilities and strengths to maintain a healthy life and future.
HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP--ON HOLD
NSC'S HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP IS FOR STUDENTS AGES 15 -21 FROM ACROSS THE PHILADELPHIA AREA. GROUP IS DESIGNED AND FACILITATED BY NSC STAFF IN COLLABORATION WITH STUDENTS FROM THE JEFFERSON UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY. OUR MISSION IS TO CREATE A CONTINUOS OUTLET FOR IMMIGRANT AND REFUGEE YOUTH WHERE THEY CAN CONTINUE TO GAIN INCREASED SKILLS TO ASSIST THEM IN NAVIGATING LIFE AND PROCESSES IN THE US, AS WELL AS GAIN ADDITIONAL ABILITIES AND STRENGTHS TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY LIFE AND FUTURE. TOPICS AND THEMES FOR GROUPS CONSIST OF COLLEGE ENTRANCE PREP AND EXPERIENCE, COMMUNICATION SKILLS, WORK AND EMPLOYMENT CULTURE AND PREPARATION, PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL WELLNESS, AND CONNECTING TO ARTS AND CULTURE.

AFGHAN YOUTH GROUP
