JOB CLUB

NSC's Job Readiness program offers Job Club monthly for NSC Clients. Topics that are covered include resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, job applications and more!

THE WELCOMING CENTER INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONALS PROGRAM

The Welcoming Center's International Professionals Program (IPP) is designed to assist foreign born and educated professionals with bachelors degrees or higher with US work authorization who are unemployed or underemployed in Philadelphia. IPP is designed to assist participants build the skills needed to obtain a professional, more advanced job in the US. The program runs for 8 weeks and then participants receive an additional 6 months of career coaching and job searching support. Topics covered in IPP include resume writing, interviewing, applying for jobs, networking and more!

IPP enrolls cohorts at various times throughout the year. They are currently enrolling for the April 19 to June 14, 2022 cohort. Deadline to apply is April 8, 2022.

UPWARDLY GLOBAL CAREER SKILLS PROGRAM

Upwardly Global’s program helps immigrant professionals restart their careers in the United States—it’s free, virtual, and has helped over 8,000 people across the country get back to work in their chosen field. 

Participants complete online modules about resume writing, cover letters, work culture, networking and more and then are assigned a career coach. The career coach will meet with you to help you with applications and becoming a confident job applicant. UpGlo works mainly with people from the finance, business operations, engineering, healthcare and IT. UpGlo offers participants the chance to connect with seasoned professionals in each industry and is sometimes able to assist with job placement!

Requirements:  

  • You have an immigration status from the eligibility list below

  • You arrived in the US within the last 7 years. 

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 

  • You speak English conversationally. 

  • You live in one of these states: California, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, or Washington D.C.
