NASR SARADAR

SR MANAGER OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY

Nasr Saradar was granted his Bachelor of Art degree with majors in both Communication Studies and English Literature from Central College, Iowa, after participating in the highly selective (PLUS) program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. The aim of the program was to promote greater understanding of US values and to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and other nations.

In Washington DC, Nasr previously interned with Women Thrive Worldwide which advocates for women’s rights globally and is dedicated to empower worldwide vulnerable women and their families break free from inequality, violence and poverty. Nasr also received the Outstanding Participation in U.S. Community Award from the U.S. Department of State.

In Syria, he worked as an Employment Specialist at the Third Millennium Centre where he was an English Language Coordinator and advisor. At Damascus University, he received his Master’s Degree in Linguistics and soon became English Language adjunct helping build bridges and mirror US values. 

Nasr is enthusiastic to be part of the NSC Employment Team to help promote work culture awareness and match job opportunities with clients’ qualifications.

ELISSA VAUGHAN    

CAREER COACH COORDINATOR

Elissa Vaughan joins the NSC Employment Team as a Career Coach Coordinator. She is a graduate from Eastern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology. During her last year of college, Elissa spent time volunteering with the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. This led her to discovering her passion for local refugee and immigrant communities. Prior to joining the NSC team, Elissa worked as a Supports Coordinator for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Elissa is excited to join the NSC Employment Team and continue to support and empower others.

OLIVIA BRINTLINGER-CONN

RCP PROGRAM COORDINATOR
 

Olivia Brintlinger-Conn joined NSC fulltime after serving as an NSC Intern for two years in the Resettlement and ERP programs. She worked as RCP Career Coach before moving on to RCP Program Coordinator. Olivia graduated from Bryn Mawr College where she studied Archaeology and International Studies. While at Bryn Mawr College, Olivia was a Yale Law School Arthur Liman Center for Public Interest Law Summer Fellow where she interned at Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley in their Refugee Resettlement program. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys walking her dog and watching the Philadelphia 76ers. Olivia is very excited to return to NSC and work with NSC clients.

NURI ABDUS-SALAAM

VOCATIONAL ESL INSTRUCTOR

Nuri Abdus-Salaam has a dual bachelors of science degree in psychology and psychiatric rehabilitation and treatment. She graduated from Kean University in Union, New Jersey and UMDNJ in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. She also has her TEFL/TESOL certification. Nuri has been teaching and working with students of diverse backgrounds for almost 10 years. She has also worked with clients who are diagnosed with severe mental illness. She enjoys traveling around the world and meeting new people.

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR

Joel Sronce (he/him) joined the Employment Team at NSC as a Job Developer before being promoted to Employment Coordinator. He graduated in May 2020 from UNC-Chapel Hill with an MA in Global Studies and a focus on global migration and labor rights. He has experience working with immigrant and refugee communities as a volunteer, journalist, and community organizer. Prior to NSC, Joel spent several years working in adult education, including teaching free ESL and GED courses in Austin, TX, and undergraduate recitations at UNC-Chapel Hill.

JOB DEVELOPER

Sayed Kalimullah Barialai Aqeli joined the NSC Employment Team in November 2021 as a Job Developer. Sayed originally hails from Afghanistan where he attended Bakhtar University and received his Bachelor of Business Administration. He has held many different jobs including the Chief Editor and News Journalist for US and NATO in Afghanistan, and also served as an interpreter for US and NATO troops in Afghanistan. Sayed has received multiple awards and certificates of appreciation for his hard work. Sayed is fluent in Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Hindi, German and English. In the fall of 2021, he used his language skills to work as an interpreter for Catalyst at the Philadelphia International Airport where he helped interpret for Afghan evacuees arriving in the US. He is currently studying to be a Business Analyst in Secure Information Technology. Outside of work, Sayed enjoys spending time with his family and following soccer.

JOB DEVELOPER

Isabelle joins NSC's Employment Team as a Job Developer. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology with a minor in Middle East Studies. Isabelle's academic and research interests focused mainly on mental and perinatal health issues around the globe. Her experience serving refugee communities includes a presentation of original research on perinatal care for Syrian refugees to obstetricians at Community Health Centers of Burlington. This research focused on the needs and issues commonly faced by people who were pregnant during or soon after residing in a refugee camp. Her nonprofit and community engagement experience includes working for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England as a Public Affairs intern. Before working at NSC, Isabelle worked as an educator at the University of Vermont Medical Center and at a public high school. Isabelle is so excited to join an amazing team that serves an amazing community of immigrants and refugees in Philadelphia.

ANDRII KOVBASISTYI

JOB DEVELOPER

Andrii Kovbasistyi joined the Employment Team as a Job Developer in June 2022. He graduated in April 2021 from West Ukrainian University with a Doctor of Philosophy in Software Engineering. In Ukraine he worked at the West Ukrainian National University as the Head of the Research Center for Automated Support. He also worked as a part-time lecturer in the Computer Science department at West Ukrainian University. Andrii has also worked as a practical teacher at an IT company called “ProfStep”.

JOB DEVELOPER

Amanda Hercules joined the NSC Employment Team in June 2022 as a Job Developer. Being an immigrant from Trinidad and Tobago, Amanda has always had a special interest in the immigrant and refugee population. She graduated from Temple University in May 2022 with a BSW. During her senior year Amanda interned at NSC on the Employment Team. NSC helped to further develop and grow Amanda's passion for helping the immigrant and refugee community. In her free time Amanda enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her loved ones. Amanda is excited to be starting her new position as a Job Developer here at NSC.
